Parliamentary election calendar

The elections were called on 9 September 2026 for Sunday 25 October 2026. Both dates are now fixed, so every deadline below is a real date. The marker in the timeline shows where today falls.

Days between the two
No fewer than 45 and no more than 60 days may pass between the call and election day (Article 60 ZINP). Choosing one recalculates whichever date you have not entered yourself.
These dates are pre-set as an example. The elections have not been called and CRTA is not predicting a date - change either date to see another scenario.
Concerns

How the dates are calculated. Deadlines are counted in calendar days from election day, from the day the elections are called, or from the day the voter register closes - exactly as in the law. Dates are not moved when they fall on a weekend or a public holiday, because neither ZINP nor ZJBS provides for that.

Why some deadlines have no date. More than half of the statutory deadlines do not run from the calendar but from an event - 48 hours from the submission of an electoral list, 72 hours from a decision being published. Those cannot be pinned to a date in advance, so they are shown as the rule that applies. ZINP is the Law on the Election of Members of Parliament ("Sl. glasnik RS", 14/22 and 47/26); ZJBS is the Law on the Unified Voter Register ("Sl. glasnik RS", 104/09, 99/11, 44/24 and 96/25). Every provision quoted here was checked against those consolidated texts on 11 September 2026, and the dates were reconciled with the official calendar of the Republic Electoral Commission.

Why a date can be one day off what you would count yourself. For deadlines that run backwards, the date shown is the last full day on which the act can still be done, not the day named in the law. Where the law says "no later than 20 days before election day", the calendar shows day 21. Deadlines set in hours are converted the same way: "72 hours before election day" becomes the fourth day before it. Deadlines that run forwards are counted plainly, with no day added.
