Through the project “Citizens Have Power,” in 2020 CRTA supported the organization Građanski preokret from Zrenjanin with 180,502 Serbian dinars, for the environmental project “Let the Stinkers Go,” aimed at informing the citizens of Zrenjanin about the largest polluters in the area.

Based on the documentation that CRTA provided to the police during the recent raid by the Criminal Police Directorate on our office, the President produced the most blatant and malicious falsification. This shows that the intentions of the prosecution and the police were primarily to discredit CRTA, intimidate it, and subject it to political persecution.

The President has no authority to access or possess information from a pre-investigation procedure, and had he respected the institution he represents, he would not have maliciously disseminated fabricated data - turning dinars into euros and distorting the facts about the actual purpose of the Zrenjanin project.

This disinformation is being used to attempt to demonstrate a connection between CRTA and the organization of an alleged “color revolution.” It represents an even more drastic abuse of institutions - the prosecution and the police - which have been used to intimidate and defame civil society organizations.

Not only did information “leak” from the pre-investigation procedure to an institution that has no authority over it, but it was also completely distorted and misused to support unfounded accusations about attempts to overthrow the state.
