Based on documentation obtained from the Agency for Qualifications , the Journalists' Association of Serbia (UNS) established that Manja Grčić's diploma carries 180, not the 240 ECTS credits required by law for the position of RTS director general, raising questions about the legality of her appointment.
The RTS Board of Directors appointed Manja Grčić as director general of Radio-Television of Serbia on February 11, 2026, for a five-year term. The appointment concluded the public competition announced on December 15, 2025, after no candidate in the first competition received the required two-thirds majority of the Board.

Grčić is a journalist and media manager with decades of experience. She holds a journalism degree from the University of Leeds. Her professional biography lists over 20 years of experience in senior roles at regional and international media companies - she worked at the BBC and TV B92, served as director of TV3 Slovenia and director general of TV B92, and was executive director and co-owner of K1 television, as well as director of the Tanjug news agency.

Grčić is the first woman to head Serbia's public broadcasting service.

During the competition, reports emerged that Grčić may not meet the statutory eligibility requirement of 240 ECTS credits, as her University of Leeds diploma carries 180 ECTS. The Board of Directors did not comment on this before making the appointment. The Agency for Qualifications issued its decision recognizing Grčić's diploma on February 11 - the same day as her appointment.
